The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) has decided to lift the temporary ban on children vaccine Rotarix following a recommendation by the National Vaccination Committee during its recent meeting to discuss the issue with members of the Technical Consultative Vaccination Committee.
The recommendation came as a result of international reports by bodies like US Food and Drug Administration and the European medicines Agency which confirmed that the vaccine was safe for use.
The Pharmacy and Drug Control Department of the SCH has been asked to take the necessary measures to release the vaccine for use by the public and private health facilities.
